On April 11, 2019, nearly 100 community members participated in two Future of Facilities Vision Workshops. These workshops were the second of three rounds of public engagement in the Forward Together process.
An introduction was given by the leaders of each entity providing the current status of their separate facilities: Mayor David Weiss from the City of Shaker Heights; Amy Switzer, Director of Shaker Heights Public Library; and Dr. Stephen Wilkins, the interim superintendent of the Shaker Heights Schools. A brief presentation was given about what has been learned so far through interviews and technical analysis. Participants were able to share their insight through four interactive activities focused on the future of facilities throughout the City.
An online survey replicating the workshop activities was also available for almost three weeks.
Read the results in the Community Vision Memo on the Resources page. Please also mark your calendar for the next public workshop — the Future of Facilities Priorities Open House — on June 12, 2019 from 7-9 pm at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building (3450 Lee Road).
