Advisory Committee

During phase two, an advisory committee made up of residents of the Shaker Heights City School District was formed to provide input. Below find information about Advisory Committee meetings.

Meetings

Meeting 1

Summary: Meeting 1 introduced the planning effort and scope. Advisory Committee members got to know each other and discuss their intended outcomes of the process. 

Meeting 2
Summary: Meeting 2 had Advisory Committee members discuss their experience at the Educational Visioning workshop, discuss outreach and communication channels, and preview round one public engagement prompts and activities. 

Meeting 3
Summary: Meeting 3 presented who was heard from in the first round of public engagement, as well as major themes which emerged from the input. Small group discussions were utilized to gain insight on ideas to re-utilize existing City facilities.

Meeting 4
Summary: Meeting 4 presented two draft facility concepts to Advisory Committee members. Small group discussions and online polling were utilized to receive feedback and help refine the concepts. This meeting was held in-person at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building.

Meeting 5
Summary: Meeting 5 reviewed who was heard from in the second round of public engagement, as well as major themes. Dr. Glasner presented four revised options which have taken public input into consideration. Two AC members presented photos and background from several recent tours to new 21st century learning facilities in the region.
